Time Trials

Alton CC is promoting weekly time trials from April to August. These will be held in accordance with Government regulations and CTT guidance. Covid-19 measures will be in place to ensure the safety of officials and riders. Before entering you must read these instructions – click here.

We welcome and encourage riders from other clubs affiliated to CTT to enter our events, for anyone who are not members of an affiliated club we also run all our Club events on a ‘Come and Try It’ basis, so please register and come along and give it a go. If after two or three events you want to enter more you will need to consider joining Alton CC  or another CTT affiliated club. Riders from the age of 12 – 17 can ride our events too as long as  parental consent is provided. The CTT consent forms are available here. For more useful information about time trialling follow this link.

Registration for our club events is online via the CTT website with the payment of £5 also being required in advance. Registration for each event will open a week or two prior and registration will close 24 hours before the event. Secure online payment is through the CTT website. The registration, payments and online agreement to the terms and conditions will ensure no additional forms or contact will be required at the event (unless you are under 18) other than collecting and returning your sanitised race numbers.

Please make sure you complete the information in the form correctly. The start sheet will be setup in advance the evening before the event and all details will be emailed out later in the evening with your start number, time and any other important event or safety information.

For both the H10/8 and H25/8 course, collection of your numbers will be from the start line / layby on the Westbound carriageway of the A31 from 30 minutes prior to the event start time. Results post race will be published online, please do not approach the timekeepers at the finish line.

ONLY TIME TRIAL OFFICIALS ARE ALLOWED TO PARK IN THE LAYBY AT THE START.

In the interests of your safety Alton Cycling Club requires all riders to use Hard Shell Helmets for Club events. CTT requires all riders to use Hard Shell Helmets for all events. CTT requires all riders to have working rear AND FRONT lights with 50m visibility for both Open and Club events: there will be no exceptions to this rule. If you don’t have  working rear AND FRONT light you will not be allowed to ride. Our sponsor, Owens Cycles, has made a small number of rear lights available for loan at events. Riders and event officials must read and adhere to the Safety Rules for Time Trial Events on the A31 document.

Promoted for and on behalf of Cycling Time Trials under their Rules and regulations.

Alton CC relies on a volunteer rota to run the time trials. Please contact Demetrius at racing@altoncyclingclub.org to volunteer.
